WhatsApp users will be able to set the amount of time they are automatically removed from group chats. Portal reports WABetaInfo.

The new feature appeared in the beta version of the messenger with the number 23.5.0.70. It became known as Expiring Groups or “Groups with an expiration date”. The user will be able to set the duration of the group chat for a day, a week or his own time. Also, the term can be changed if the user changes his mind. It is noted that the rest of the chat participants will not be affected by the settings of a particular user.

After the expiration date, WhatsApp will ask the user to “clean up” their group, which will help keep their correspondence organized. This can be especially true for chats created for specific events, such as discussing birthday celebrations, coordinating business trips and tourist trips.

The feature is in beta testing. The timing of its implementation and implementation for a wide range of users is still unknown.
