Alex Katuzyan, Qualcomm senior vice president, announced that the Nothing Phone (2) will receive last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. At the same time, brand president Carl Pei has promised to use the flagship hardware in a smartphone, informs Portal 91 mobile phones.
Shortly after Katouzyan’s post was spotted on the internet, this information was edited to show that his post uses a Snapdragon 8-series chip.
Earlier, Carl Pei, the founder and chairman of Nothing, has repeatedly stated that the next smartphone of the brand will receive a flagship chip, talking about the Snapdragon 8 series. Fans of the company were sure that we were talking about the modern Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. however, apparently, the novelty will only get sub-flagship hardware.
Additionally, it is likely that Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 or 8 Gen 3 when the Nothing Phone (2) is released. It is not yet known when the smartphone will be presented. It is only known that it will be introduced before the end of 2023.
