Russians warned about a scam scheme related to the purchase of “state cryptocurrency”

On behalf of the regulator, scammers are sending mass emails to Russians in which they talk about the launch of a “state cryptocurrency”. It has been reported TASS With reference to Kaspersky Lab’s press service.

In these letters, the victim is encouraged to go to the site to become one of the first investors of the new currency and make a profitable investment. We know of at least several thousand such letters sent in February of this year.

If the user clicks on the link, they will be taken to a site that talks about another project allegedly started by Telegram head Pavel Durov. The victim is asked to deposit a small amount of money, after which he loses both the money and the personal data he entered on the site.

To avoid falling into the trap of intruders, users are advised to be skeptical of “fast money” offers and also not to follow links from suspicious emails.
