In 2022, Samsung sold nearly 12 million foldable smartphones with foldable screens, accounting for about 85% of the overall market. In this respect informs GizmoChina, citing a report by analysts Stephen Kiernan and Yongsub Eric Shin.

According to experts, a total of 14.2 million foldable devices were shipped to the market in 2022. In the flexible screen smartphone niche, companies such as Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor also occupy important positions alongside Samsung.

Analysts believe the market for these devices is still performing well, despite the drop in shipments of foldable smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2022. The outcome of the category under discussion is particularly pleasing in terms of the recession in the entire smartphone market due to the global economic crisis.

Kiernan and Shin expect foldable smartphone shipments to double to 30 million by 2023. At the same time, according to experts’ estimates, Samsung will be responsible for the release of half of the determined volume.

Formerly socialbites.ca Wrote that the new foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will receive a new hinge in the form of a “drop”.
