American blogger Casey Neistat walked through New York City in Moonwalker’s electric boots, promising her owner the opportunity to walk at “running speed.” He talked about his impressions of the new device in a video called YouTube.
“Wow, they move. It feels weird like you’re walking on ice. Even so, you are skating on the ice and someone is pushing you from behind.”
According to Neistat, he contributed $50 to Kickstarter after the announcement of the new product and recently received an email from the developers with an offer to try the bots.
The blogger showed that the shoe mount is stored in a special case, and then for each pair of shoes, the device must be charged via the cable, like a smartphone.
To open the moonwalkers, you need to turn each foot to the side. After that, the bots gradually begin to speed up the user’s steps and increase the movement speed.
Neistat and his colleague tested walking speed and found that in Moonwalkers, a person moved about twice as fast in the same step as without them.
moonwalkers introduced By Shift Robotics in October 2022. The developer likened the experience of using Moonwalkers to walking on a navigator at an airport. The device also has a special “lock” mode that allows you to climb stairs safely.
