Twitter user The Gman’s Archive published A trailer for the canceled Doom 4 game that ID Software prepared for an internal presentation at Christmas 2012.

The clip is 30 seconds long. Episodes with monsters creeping through narrow, dark corridors making terrifying noises show several scenes of finishing off demons alongside the Prince of Hell running with a minigun. Apparently, ID Software had planned to develop the concept of fear introduced in Doom 3 in Doom 4.

It’s notable that the ending scenes for the 2012 game are very similar to Doomguy’s moves that he demonstrated in 2016’s Doom reboot. In the clip there is even a scene in which the hero sees the monster with the chainsaw, which appears in the future game.

At the end of the trailer, Doom 4 text appears, which covers the entire screen. It looks like no subtitles are planned for the game.

Over the course of several hours, the Twitter teaser of the canceled game garnered nearly 10,000 views and just over 700 likes. The Gman’s Archive account has only 370 followers.

Formerly socialbites.ca Wrote About how the 1993 original Doom was included in the top 20 video games of all time, according to The Times.
