Sony’s TV lineup, set to launch in 2023, will receive a host of new features aimed at improving the gaming experience when using PlayStation 5 and other modern consoles. In this respect informs Forbes edition.
It is noted that a separate menu will be reserved for this task in the TV OS interface. For example, it will be possible to turn on the VRR mode (used to reduce visual artifacts at a non-constant screen refresh rate – ed.), enable noise reduction in dynamic Motion Blur Reduction scenes, and more.
A Black Equalizer will also be added to TVs, allowing you to adjust the brightness of dark areas of the screen, which is supposed to facilitate interaction with small objects in games. If desired, a plus sign can be displayed in the middle of the screen. It is claimed to aid better aiming in some games. The crosshair type and color will be customizable.
Forbes says the most interesting feature is Screen Size. When activated, the window with the game shrinks sharply, allowing you to look at the whole frame in dynamic scenes and waste time examining it if the TV diagonal is too large.
Forbes believes Sony TVs are currently inferior to LG, Samsung or even TCL devices in terms of gaming capabilities. However, with the release of new models, Sony can level up with its competitors, or even give them an edge.
