TikTok will limit in-app screen time for teens to 60 minutes per day. In this respect informs Border.
With the introduction of the innovation, every account belonging to a user under the age of 18 will automatically limit the application to 60 minutes per day. At the end of the allowed limit, young people will be asked to enter a password to continue using the social network. Users under the age of 13 will only be able to receive an additional 30 minutes of video views when they reach the limit if their parent or guardian enters a password.
Developers will add additional features to “Family Settings”. For example, parents or guardians of underage users will be able to independently set the desired time limit and also set a different time limit depending on the day of the week. However, parents will be able to turn off TikTok notifications for teens on a planned basis. Currently, users aged 13-15 do not receive notifications from 21:00, and young people aged 16-17 do not receive notifications from 22:00.
In addition, teens will receive weekly reports on the time spent on TikTok.
According to TikTok, the innovations will work in the near future and will be available to all users.
