As part of the Mobile Electronics Show MWC 2023, Lenovo showcased a floating-screen ThinkBook laptop prototype. Portal reports Border.
The screen of the device moves with the help of small motors – the whole process takes about 10 seconds. If the diagonal of the screen when folded is 12.7 inches (aspect ratio 4:3), it is already 15.3 inches when unfolded (aspect ratio 8:9). According to the company, the design of the laptop can withstand 20-30 thousand folds.
The manufacturer suggests that this solution will save users money on purchasing an additional monitor, as the floating screen can accommodate more information. A reporter from The Verge, who visited the Lenovo booth at MWC, noted that a company representative did not answer the question about the weight of the device and did not allow it to be taken away. The duration of the “life” of the laptop battery also remained a mystery.
