Gem4me development team head Vahe Zakaryan told socialbites.ca that Apple’s statements that the American company will not provide user data at the request of law enforcement because of the new encryption system in the iCloud cloud service is a marketing ploy.

“Such a statement could be considered a marketing ploy to attract as many users as possible to the paid iCloud service,” he said.

According to the developer, the encryption system can help protect data from hackers and scammers. It’s a useful and positive change, but he’s confident encryption won’t be a hindrance to private services, says Zakarian.

“First, intelligence services in any country have at least the possibility to request access to all necessary data. And by a court order, the company that owns this data will be obliged to comply with these requirements. Secondly, such actions can be considered obstruction of justice, and therefore information will have to be provided in any case, ”explained the expert.

previously had a similar view spoke popular Russian blogger and designer Artemy Lebedev. He is confident that the new encryption system will be available to US intelligence agencies, including the FBI.
