Russian developer adds ray tracing to Half-Life

st. Petersburg-based developer Sultim Tsyrendashiev has developed a mod that adds ray tracing to the original version of Half-Life. Half-Life: Ray Traced Trailer released official YouTube channel Tsyrendashieva sultim_t.

In the video, you can see levels from Half-Life with ray tracing enabled, as the lighting in the game looks different from the original game. So reflections, refractions, soft shadows and other visual effects appeared in the developer’s version.

Half-Life Modification: Ray Traced Sultim Tsyrendashiev posted on GitHub – anyone can download it. Judging by the comments on YouTube, many users of the mod came to taste – they praise the work of the programmer and hope to add ray tracing to the sequel to the Half-Life 2 game.
