The online encyclopedia “Wikipedia” was closed to visitors in many countries of the world at the same time. This is evidenced by the data of the portal. DownDetector.

The site was reportedly “down”, including in the US, Russia, and European countries. Users complain about the inability to make changes to the articles or even go to the online resource. When trying to visit Wikipedia, an error is shown stating that “the servers are under maintenance or are experiencing outages”. According to the information at the bottom of the page, the cause of the failure is the 503 error.

It is not yet known what exactly caused the problems in the study and when Wikipedia will be available to users again.
