Brazilian Embraer has filed a patent application and received regulatory approval for a “feel good brain stimulation system” for air passengers on flights. According to this BorderThe system includes electric shocks and a “feel-good” camera.
The company assured that the development is aimed at reducing passenger anxiety on long flight journeys.
The system includes a digital camera that scans the passenger’s face, as well as a facial expression analysis tool that can identify the passenger’s emotions.
This information is then transmitted to an interface that can offer passengers a form of “non-invasive transcranial stimulation” that includes DC electrical stimulation, magnetic stimulation and pulsed ultrasound.
According to The Verge, transcranial magnetic or current stimulation is an established treatment for depression and a potential treatment option for many other mental illnesses.
But journalists are confident that any airline that makes such manipulations based solely on the analysis of the passenger’s face will violate the privacy and security of customers’ personal data.
Previously on TikTok actively discussed the video, where the plane appears to be frozen in mid-air. The blogger pulled the plane out of the car during a trip to Chicago, USA.
