American company Microsoft has added a built-in Secure Network VPN service to version 110 of its popular Edge browser, but only for some users so far. Portal reports Doctor Windows.

It is noted that the function was implemented in partnership with Cloudflare. Over the free fee, users will be allowed up to 1GB of traffic protected through the service.

Microsoft pointed out that unlike traditional VPN services, Secure Network is not suitable for bypassing regional restrictions by changing the IP address.

The company designed the service to automatically select a server in the user’s region to ensure secure operation on public networks.

Therefore, the Safe Network can only be used to protect privacy, but not to bypass any restrictions and access to prohibited resources. In Edge 110 screenshots, the VPN service supports three operating modes: Selected Sites, Optimized, and All Sites.
