Russian company Caviar, specializing in creating custom iPhones and accessories for Apple technology from expensive materials, introduced A new case for the Apple Watch with a Vantablack-like finish, the world’s blackest material.
The accessory is called Supreme Flying Diamonds and is a bracelet and cell for the Apple Watch. Supreme Flying Diamonds are made of lightweight, aircraft-grade titanium “just like the finest Swiss watches.” There are 12 diamonds with a diameter of 1.8 mm on the bezel of the case. The entire body of the case is covered in what Caviar calls Vantablack.
“Caviar has expanded its collection with luxury engineering and design work. Our artists created a classic Swiss-style Apple Watch case and coated it in Vantablack. The unique material absorbs the sun’s rays and creates a rich black hue,” writes the product description.
Vantablack is considered the blackest material in the world. It absorbs more than 99.9% of the light falling on it. Caviar claims that if the Supreme Flying Diamonds are placed in front of a black background, only the floating stones will be visible to the eye.
Like other Caviar products, the new Apple Watch case is a limited edition and extremely expensive accessory – Supreme Flying Diamonds cost up to 299 thousand rubles.
