Mark Zuckerberg announced paid verification of accounts on Facebook (Meta’s owner is recognized and banned in Russia as an extremist) and Instagram (Meta’s owner is recognized and banned in Russia as an extremist). Portal reports business insider.

The new service Meta (considered extremist and banned in Russia) will be called Verified. Its users will be marked with verification badges. For $11.99 in the web version and $14.99 in the iOS version, the client will receive a special checkmark, additional account protection against the exposure of fake “fake” accounts, and direct access to support.

“This new feature is designed to improve the security and account authenticity of all of our services,” Zuckerberg said.

It is known that Meta Verified will be released in Australia and New Zealand this week. In the future, the geography of the service will expand to other countries of the world.
