There is no need to produce 100% spare parts for foreign aircraft in Russia, declaration Roman Gusarov, editor-in-chief of the AVIA.RU portal, in an interview with Reedus. The publication notes that the largest private airline in the Russian Federation, S7 Airlines – a subsidiary of S7 Technics, is able to independently repair 17% of imported engine parts and 67% of aircraft systems as a whole.

“The figure for 67% of components that S7 Technics can repair is a very high figure. Moreover, the service center performs rather difficult forms of maintenance, in fact the plane is completely disassembled, all parts are ultrasound checked, tested and then everything is reassembled. As a result, the plane looks like it just came out of the factory, ”said Gusarov.

In addition, according to him, there was no paralysis of the industry in Russia, since technical centers were able to organize alternative supply chains for spare parts. The expert reminded that in 2022, Russian airlines carried 95 million passengers, which shows that 90 percent of the aircraft fleet is in flight condition.

Valentina Matvienko, Former Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation statedthat the transition to Russian aircraft and equipment in the future will give an additional impetus to the formation of Russia’s technological dominance.
