Twitter CEO Elon Musk says he’s changing plans and will need about a year to “clean up Twitter” before handing over the company to a new CEO. Agency reports Bloomberg.
“I need to stabilize the situation at the company and make sure that it is in a financially healthy state and that the roadmap for the development of the social network is clearly outlined,” the businessman said via video link.
According to the billionaire, the time for his removal from Twitter as chairman will likely come as early as 2023.
“I think later this year would be a good time to find someone else to run the company. I think Twitter will be in a stable state by the end of this year,” Musk said.
Since taking office in October 2022, Musk has claimed that he plans to step down as head of Twitter, and even plans to do so as soon as possible.
According to a Bloomberg source, the billionaire was looking for a new Twitter CEO in December 2022, but without success. Musk’s decision angered some investors at Tesla’s other company. Investors urged Musk to pay more attention to the electric car company.
