The WhatsApp account of Finnish Minister of Economic Development Mika Lintil was hacked by unknown people. This is reported by the local portal yle.

It was noted that the politician confirmed the fact of the hacking, but declined to give details on what happened. “My smartphone is being checked, so I can’t say anything new,” Lintilya said.

The minister also did not directly answer the question of whether anyone else could use his phone before the WhatsApp hack.

Data Protection Commissioner Anu Talus said Lintil’s account was compromised in an “exceptional circumstance”. “I don’t know that there have been cases like this before,” the official said.

Former Russian blogger and designer Artemy Lebedev criticized WhatsApp messenger for overdue introduction of new features.

According to him, WhatsApp is a @supermegaphone program that is extremely inconvenient to use under any circumstances. Blogger advised all WhatsApp users to switch to Pavel Durov’s Telegram messenger.
