A phishing link is an imitation of a legitimate site that sends a fake notification about gaining access or purchasing. “This form can be found on different sites and apps, but it will always ask for a username and password,” Bederov said.

He pointed out that people often use the same passwords on all accounts. Thus, you may lose access to several platforms at the same time.

The expert also warned of a new type of cyber fraud: Attackers began stealing cookie sessions more frequently. “If an attacker steals cookies and copies a browser snapshot, they can impersonate you and hijack all accounts,” the expert said.

The expert recommended using two-factor authentication.

“At the very least, checking and restoring access via SMS by getting a code, ideally through an external authentication app,” he said.

Vasily Vorobyov, former lawyer for civil, arbitration and administrative cases saidthat phishing sites can be recognized from their address bars.
