Turkey’s main opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), has sued aides of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who ordered a Twitter blog in the country shortly after the earthquakes. In this respect informs Bloomberg edition.
The Twitter operation in Turkey was limited on February 9 due to the spread of fake messages about the earthquake. In the context of the disaster, the CHP believes this is an unfair measure, because the social network is a “vital conduit” for the people trapped in the rubble and those helping to dismantle them.
Lawsuits were filed against Fahrettin Altun, Head of the Communications Department, and Adil Karaysmailoğlu, the Head of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Both officials are aides to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
