Due to the sanctions and the impossibility of official procurement of parts for the repair of printers and other printing equipment, Russian service centers began to have problems with spare parts. Ilya Karpuk, director of the Printeria service center, said this in an interview with socialbites.ca.

“Our service center is engaged in the repair of printed office equipment – printers, plotters, MFPs. Details are pretty bad. Original spare parts disappeared from suppliers due to the withdrawal of companies from the market. We buy rare leftovers throughout the country, since compatible analogues do not work only for some positions. Additive manufacturing comes to the rescue. We already ship some directly from China and Japan, and sometimes we manage to find “certified” originals,” Karpuk admitted.

Despite existing ways to circumvent restrictions, the shortage of spare parts sometimes forces service centers to remove “donors” from the secondary market or look for used parts, because office equipment has become prohibitively expensive and users are no longer ready to buy new printers for their printers. 30 thousand rubles rub, said Karpuk. According to him, the assembly of used parts occurs only by agreement with customers.

“Normal service centers always coordinate their actions with the customer. If a spare part is not available or an alternative is not needed, the customer is immediately offered an alternative with the responsibility of the service center and with a guaranteed job. There has never been a case where a used part was delivered without approval. Specialist, sometimes as not all positions could be changed. and since we cannot guarantee good operation on heavily loaded used parts, we even reject customers who want to save money by sourcing used parts,” he said.

According to Karpuk, the trend of closing and contraction continues in the markets. Therefore, spare parts originally from China have become “disgusting quality” – suppliers are trying to replace proven positions over the years with cheaper ones, so as not to raise the price too much. This affects the performance of services. Experts weed out the defective parts, and engineers spend more time solving puzzles where the culprit is a low-quality part.

“Now it is more profitable to repair it than to buy new devices at 4-5 times higher prices,” Karpuk said.

Formerly socialbites.ca said It’s about a new kind of telephone terrorism against the Russians.
