Apple attracts LG to develop Apple Watch

Apple has hired LG Display to design and manufacture Micro LED displays for the new Apple Watch models. About informs The GizmoChina edition credits insider Ross Young.

According to Yang, LG Display will begin production of next-generation matrices in the second half of next year. Therefore, watches with improved screens are likely to appear in the same 2024.

Young also wrote that Micro-LEDs will have better color reproduction, contrast and brightness than the Retina LTPO OLED displays used in current Apple Watch models. GizmoChina believes that Micro-LED will at least provide better readability of information on the exposed screen.

The real question, according to journalists, is which Apple Watch model will get the Micro-LED display first. Most likely, it will be the Apple Watch Ultra, as they are more expensive and are designed for frequent outdoor use only, according to GizmoChina.
