Chinese company Realme introduced the world’s most powerful 240W smartphone charger as part of the Consumer Electronic Show 2023 (CES 2023) technology fair. The first device to receive support for the new charging will be the Realme GT Neo 5 smartphone. informs GSM Arena version.

Realme’s next-generation charger converts 20V 12A to 10V 24A while retaining 98.5% of the original energy. The received current is distributed over three channels, which requires the charger to have a three-section battery for parallel power supply.

To achieve maximum safety when using 240 W, 13 sensors are built into the power supply that monitor temperature, voltage and other parameters.

Realme has managed to keep the charger’s relatively compact dimensions by increasing the power and hardware – a 240 W unit is only 5% larger than a 150 W unit.

Realme also considered the resource density of smartphone batteries when developing a new charger. It is claimed that after 1600 charge cycles, the maximum battery capacity drops by only 20%.

The company did not say how fast the Realme GT Neo 5 will charge from the new power source. However, GSM Arena is sure that this process will pass very quickly. Journalists showed the Realme GT Neo 3 indicator for comparison: charging at 150 W, the smartphone charges up to 100% in just 16 minutes.

Most likely, the charging speed of the Realme GT Neo 5 will be revealed during the launch of the smartphone in February 2023.
