Cupertino announced the Apple Music Classical app in 2022, after acquiring Primephonic, a classical music streaming service, in August 2021. A month after the service was purchased, Apple shut down the service. Apple is rumored to release a dedicated classical music app based on Apple Music in 2022 using the fan-favorite Primephonic interface with new features.

However, since the announcement of Apple Music Classical, there has been no new information about the service. Initially, the company’s website reported that the release is scheduled for early 2022, and the information was updated following the March rollout. According to the last revision, the app was supposed to be released “in 2022”. It is unknown what caused the broadcast delay.
