More than half of the 50 apps for storing passwords on Google Play, tested by Rosquality experts, are fake. About informs Izvestia edition.

“Play Market users are still likely to download and install a Trojan on their smartphones. Many so-called “password managers” in the Google Play Store are actually phishing apps designed to steal people’s passwords.

In addition, experts found that all 50 programs analyzed contained advertisements in one form or another. In only two of them, the display of banners can be disabled for a paid subscription.

The situation with ads is made worse by the fact that in 11 out of 50 programs, ads take up half the screen and block login and password windows. This increases the risk of accidentally clicking an ad link, which can be dangerous.

“There are cases where advertising banners in apps are placed by scammers. “Therefore, users accidentally click on the title and go to phishing resources,” said Sergey Kuzmenko, senior specialist of the Roskachestvo Center for Digital Expertise for testing digital products.
