Instructions for activating Apple Pay

To return the ability to pay with Mir cards in Apple Pay, you must have a previously added card in the Wallet app. This means that new cards can no longer be connected to the service.

First you need to prepare another device – a computer, tablet or smartphone from which you need to access the site iCloud and go to Find My iPhone. All that remains for Apple computer owners is to open the Latitude app.

After that, you need to sign in using the same Apple ID that you signed into the iPhone. Next, click the “Devices” button and select the iPhone you plan to connect Apple Pay to.

After that, you need to click on the “Lost Mode” button, click “Next” and “Finish”. In this case, you do not need to enter a phone number.

After a few seconds, the iPhone will be locked and a message will appear on its screen: “IPhone Missing. Restore Apple Pay.

Next, you need to go back to the device where the smartphone was locked, click on “Lost Mode” again and select “Turn off Lost Mode” at the bottom of the pop-up window.

After the user turns this mode off, their iPhone becomes usable again and also receives a notification that their card is ready for Apple Pay.

nuances

It is worth emphasizing once again that this method only works for users who have previously added Mir cards to Apple Wallet.

As practice shows, at this stage the scheme works, but with some nuances – the service is operational on average for 5-7 hours. At the same time, it remains possible to repeat the “lost” operation, and Apple Pay will work again.

It’s a good idea to always have a backup in the form of cash or a plastic card, which you can use in case Apple Pay fails unexpectedly.

socialbites.ca checked the functionality of Apple Pay using the loss mode, and as of April 12, payment from a smartphone really continues to work. But you should not abuse this opportunity either – it is not known how Apple will react to frequent locking and unlocking of the iPhone.

Since March 10, Mastercard and Visa payment systems have suspended their work in Russia, and as a result, iPhone users using cards to pay in Apple Pay also lost support. Later, Apple Pay also officially blocked the possibility of connecting Mir debit cards.
