Kaspersky Lab chief expert Sergey Golovanov in an interview with the agency “Hitting the Primer” It told you how to protect your Telegram account against theft.

According to the expert, attackers send links to phishing pages, where a person can accidentally enter login data into the messenger. Such messages from scammers may come under the pretext of gifting a Telegram Premium subscription. After the theft of personal data, scammers begin to write to the victim’s contacts with requests to transfer money to a sick child or to extort money on any other pretext.

Golovanov stressed that carelessness increases the risk of losing an account and jeopardizing personal correspondence. He added that this will contribute to the further spread of the threat.

The expert stated that you should follow the security rules to protect your account from theft.

“It is important that users do not enter an access code, set up two-factor authentication wherever possible, and also not click on unfamiliar links and enter their sensitive data,” he advised.
