Dell introduced the Concept Luna, a modular laptop that can be taken apart in less than a minute. About informs communication portal.
In 2021, Dell has already demonstrated the first advances in creating a modular laptop, but in the latest iteration of the Concept Luna, glue and screws were used to join some of the components. The 2022 Concept Luna laptop is said to take around 30 seconds to completely disassemble as it has already been stripped of cables and screws.
To disassemble a laptop, it is enough to pinch a special hole in its case with a pin, remove the insert on the keyboard, and then take the necessary part – for example, speakers, battery, fan, motherboard or screen.
This concept aims to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly vehicles. Thus, in case of failure of any item, the owner of the laptop will be able to independently replace the part with a new one and return the defective one for recycling.
The timing of commercial implementation of the concept has not been reported.
