“This will hinder our efforts to protect the American people from criminal activities ranging from cyberattacks and child abuse to drug trafficking, organized crime and terrorism,” the FBI said.

The ministry demanded that intelligence officers be given “legitimate access” to users’ devices.

The Washington Post pointed out that security features are one of the main marketing tools for Apple: The stronger the competitors in this regard, the more serious innovations Apple offers.

According to American journalists, in 2022 Advanced Data Protection will only work for American iPhone users. In other countries, the function will appear later – Apple does not exclude that Advanced Data Protection will not have time to roll out even at the end of 2023.
