The payment is said to include $13.6 million in attorneys’ fees, up to $2 million in legal fees and $1.4 million in administrative settlement costs. The rest will be distributed to the injured party.

The butterfly keyboard appeared on the 2015 and 2016 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops. The new technology needed to provide improved key feel and stability. However, soon after the release of devices with a new keyboard, users were faced with a rapid failure of the buttons.
