Developers at the studio The Astronauts have announced that the shooter in the dark fantasy genre will Witchfire will not be released this year, as previously planned, but early 2023. Initially the game was supposed to be released in the Epic Games Store Early Access before the end of 2022, but that has now changed.

The authors explained that this is due to a change in the concept of the game. If it was previously said that Witchfire will be a battle arena game, now it is reported that the project will be getting a semi-open world with a hideout and extensive research areas. This was told by the head of the studio Adrian Chmielarz.
According to him, the new semi-open world is already 95% integrated into the game. The head of the studio also explained that some doors may require keys, areas near the boss are dangerous, but the world itself will now be available to explore “in almost any order.”
The game will be released on PC first, but may be released on consoles after that.
