YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits published an exclusive graphical comparison, showing how the three versions of the first part differ from each other Resident evil. The video features the 1996 original, the 2002 GameCube version, and a fan-made remake currently being worked on by Team Arklay.
At the moment, Biohazard RE1 Classic Edition (the name of the fan remake) is in a very early stage of development, but judging by the video, the authors have already managed to recreate many scenes and locations from the original.
The developers strive to make the game as authentic as possible with a fixed camera and all those gameplay conventions that were present in the horror of the 90s. However, innovations are also expected. For example, an extra third-person camera mode will be added to the game. There will also be new animations and extended cutscenes.
The project was created on the Unreal Engine 5 engine, and therefore visually corresponds to the level of modern games. In addition, during development, the authors make use of technologies such as Nanite (virtualized geometry system), Lumen (fully dynamic global illumination and reflection system) and Ray tracing (ray tracing).
The release date of the project has not been disclosed. It’s worth noting that Biohazard RE1 Classic Edition isn’t the only Team Arklay project. Previously, the team presented its own remake Dino Crisis.😇 Undressable Angel Figure from Overwatch Revealed
