As part of the multiplayer open beta test Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits posted a video comparing three versions of the game (PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S).

In the video, you can see how textures, shadows, draw spacing, effects, resolution, lighting, and frame rates differ between the three platforms.

On PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, the game can run in two modes: 4K and 60 FPS, as well as 1440p and 120 FPS. In general there is no significant difference in frame rate, but on the Microsoft platform in performance mode the game shows a few more FPS. As for the PC version, the game was launched on a computer with an RTX 3080 graphics card with maximum graphics settings in 4K resolution.

But what conclusions does the author of the video have:

  • PS5 has some shading issues in 120Hz mode;
  • Xbox Series X has better performance compared to PS5 and Xbox Series S;
  • DLSS 2.0 technology is compatible with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC. When enabled, the gain is about 40 FPS;
  • Shadows, ambient shading, anisotropic filtering, and some textures look better on the PC version. However, at the time of comparison, the draw distance of some assets on the PC looks worse.
