Ubisoft will rewrite the story of Splinter Cell Remake to appeal to a modern audience

at the remake Splinter Cell will not only have new graphics, but also a redesigned script. That was made known by the latest vacancy for a screenwriter, which appeared on the Ubisoft website.

The description says that the developers want to keep the spirit of the original while also adapting the story for “modern audience“.

Based on the original Splinter Cell, we rewrite and update the story for a modern audience. We want to keep the spirit and themes covered as we explore our characters and world to make them more authentic and believable. As a writer at Ubisoft Toronto, you’ll join the writing team and help create a cohesive and immersive storytelling experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans.

At the end of 2021, the Splinter Cell remake was officially announced. So far it is only known that the project works on the Snowdrop engine (used in The Division) and the levels remain linear.
