Released on PC and Nintendo Switch Return to Monkey Island – a new installment in the cult series of pirate adventure quests. Unfortunately, the game is not available in Russia. It also has Russian subtitles.
The game was developed by series creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman, as well as composers Peter McConnell, Michael Land and Clint Bajakian, who all worked on the early parts of Monkey Island.
In terms of plot Return to Monkey Island is a sequel to the first two parts. The game takes place many years after the last battle between Guybrush Threepwood and the zombie pirate LeChuck. Gamers return to the classic Carnage Islands series, where they will meet both new and old characters. The authors not only transformed the old locations, but also added completely new ones, including the Isle of Horror and Brr-Mood. In addition, in the sequel, the developers have improved the mechanics, reworked the controls and dialogue branches, and also simplified the inventory system.
Critics welcomed the novelty. The average score on OpenCritic is 88/100. On Steam, the project has 100% positive reviews.
