Publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks have announced a new dark fantasy game The lords of the fallen. A spectacular movie trailer was shown at Gamescom 2022.

The project is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game takes place more than a thousand years after the events described in Lords of the Fallen 2014.
“It’s a brand new adventure set in a massive world over five times the size of the original”says the description.
Hexworks is led by executive producer Saul Gascon and creative director Cezar Virtosu. The former worked on projects such as: Dead in daylight and PayDay 2, and the second is known for Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Assassin’s Creed Origins. The team consists of more than 75 employees.
The Lords of the Fallen is the spiritual successor that fans of the original game have always wanted. The game is much bigger, with a huge, interconnected dual world divided between realms of the living and the dead that players can explore alone or with friends. The game is darker and more hardcore, with Souls-esque fast-paced combat, solid RPG elements, and a more immersive storyline.
Among the features are a myriad of NPCs you can interact with, a variety of magical abilities that can turn the tide of battle, co-op, nine character classes to choose from (knight, robber, student of fire, and more), as well as a deep pumping system that allows you to create a unique hero.
The release of The Lords of the Fallen is scheduled for next year. Steam already has a page.
