Digital foundry experts showed the gamble that Rockstar games used non-versions Grand Theft Auto 5 as a test training ground for GTA 6. They still believe that the coming game will go on 30 fps on consoles.
One of the innovations GTA 5 improved was global lighting with Rays Tracer (RTGI), which significantly improved the “image”. Tests showed that Rockstar was well handled with optimization: on the RTX 4060 with DLSS 3 and the maximum settings, the game gives stable 60 fps in resolution of 1440p. And this is with dense traffic on the map.

Experts noted that this optimization level is suitable for the consoles of the current generation. It is possible that the technology has been tested on GTA 5 before it used for Grand Theft Auto 6. Otherwise it is difficult to explain why the developers decided to confuse this for an action ten years ago, according to Digital Foundry.
Nevertheless, experts do not hope for 60 FPS, because the technology is very much loading the consolor processor. Remember that the GTA 6 -release for this fall is planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/s.
