Who would have thought that Marvel’s Spider-Man – PS4’s biggest hit – is making its way to PC. “Impossible!” said the fanatics, the custodians of sacred PlayStation exclusives. “Perhaps!” called in response to the resulting crisis in the semiconductor market, which prevented Sony from producing enough current-generation consoles and therefore receiving the planned profit from iron sales.
The result is a new course for the company to win the wallets and hearts of PC owners who don’t mind trying out PlayStation powerhouses without investing in an extra TV box.
Why you should be playing Marvel’s Spider-Man
Serious steps have been taken towards PC players. Purchase of Nixxes software in early July this year, release of branded gaming peripherals, announcements of ports for PC as part of state of play and release of blockbusters on Steam god of war, Horizon: Zero Dawn and basically Marvel’s Spider-Man.
All of these games have sold over 20 million copies on PlayStation 4, but it was Spider who topped this colossal figure, setting the bar at 33 million (albeit taking into account the PlayStation 5 version). And judging by online on Steam, a friendly neighbor’s adventures will easily bring Sony a few more million – despite its age and the $60 premium price tag, as for a new release.
The reason for its popularity is simple. It’s a well-crafted game about your favorite superhero in red and blue, with a cool story, Hollywood-style action and an incredibly picturesque New York City full of references to other Marvel heroes. But the most important is the great system of flights on the web, spectacular battles with acrobatic stunts, gadgets and the use of the environment.
The coolest Spider game is…
Sadly, since the release of “Spider” there has been no other superhero cult game that has received so much love from fans. “Avengers” () failed. “Protectors of the Universe”Guardians of the Galaxy, an excellent single project, fell victim to the dubbed “Avengers” disgrace and a failed advertising campaign.
All announced projects are stuck in production, for example Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League And the ones leaked by insiders are at the prototype stage at best.
So it turns out, there’s now an opportunity on PC to finally play the uncompromisingly best superhero game since the Batman: Arkham series.
Technically, hasn’t the PC version gotten any worse?
If you close your eyes to the price tag, then everyone decides for themselves whether they’re willing to spend that kind of money on entertainment, then PC owners get the best version of Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Here and support for RTX at no extra cost (hello to all PS5 owners who didn’t get a chance to update the “Spider”), and support for disgustingly wide monitors and flexible graphics settings, and the ability to run on different controllers (at least on an Xbox gamepad, even on bananas) and the availability of all paid and free content for the game. Finally full compatibility with Steam Deck, if for some reason this is important to you. Simply beauty!
In addition, you can remember the authors of changes who already make mods, add the possibility to play as villains, wear a symbiotic suit and fight waves of Shreks and CJs … The power of mods on PC is limitless!
It’s quite difficult for me, the author of this material, to affirmatively say that the port has turned out great in terms of compatibility and stability – I play on the mount with RTX 3060, Ryzen 5 3600 and 16 GB. Everyone has different hardware configurations, and judging by Steam stats, the vast majority of players haven’t switched to RTX cards, but will remain on the GTX 1060, 1050 ti, and 1650 models.
1080p, 60 FPS, with high settings and a very weak RTX (3060 in another and can not) – everything works stably. The only thing that catches the eye is the RTX, which was much more tactile on the PlayStation 5 and without the odd ripple effect. But there is a problem with the video card. If you want rays and reflections, invest in the right hardware for this. This is the way of PC gaming.
There are no complaints about the photo. A big difference is made by the format of information consumption of the monitor, not the TV. Sitting in front of the monitor, you inadvertently notice small details such as wear and scratches on the shoes of the redesigned Spider suit. Well, it takes some time to get used to Parker’s new face, which most likely can be changed with mods, even for Tobias Maguire’s face.
Whose face would you most like to have in the game?

If you turn to the opinion of the Internet, then everything is much better than at the time of release Death Stranding. Of course, you can find examples of glitches and bugs in the PC version on the vast social networks, but more often there are positive comments about Nixxes Software, which continues to release patches after release. Rich PC players in particular run the game with all the effects and RTX on three monitors without any problems (and you can with 3090 in the case).
So it’s all pretty good. You can and should play. Even on not the most advanced computers.
What’s the next port Sony PC owners look forward to? Leave your guesses and aspirations in the comments.
