Journalists from foreign gaming publications were introduced to the first watch Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and they seemed elated. The sequel to Warhorse Studios’ medieval RPG received many flattering reviews for its role-playing system, combat and other aspects.
We have highlighted the most important things from the first preliminary assessments:
- The city of Kutna Hora (Kuttenberg) has become the largest location compared to settlements Kingdom Come: Deliverance;
- It is not necessary to complete the first part;
- Parrying has become easier, you can block multiple attacks at once;
- The game has quite good optimization on PC and PS5 compared to the first KCD;
- The sequel expanded on the mechanics of its predecessor: skills became more powerful and abilities improved;
- Quests have many options to complete them with unpredictable results;
- Reading books opens up new possibilities for dialogue, and Henry himself (Henry/Hindro) can make money through blacksmithing;
- The world reacts not only to the player’s behavior, but also to his equipment and manner of speaking, and also offers many unexpected events.
In addition, videos with new gameplay have been released. The VGS edition showed a full hour of introduction, combat and world exploration:
The publications also shared their own impressions of the passage. VGS portal called Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 “a big and daring role-playing game in every respect”and PC Gamer even compared the project to the STALKER series in terms of how the in-game world “lives” on its own and interacts with the player, dubbing “crazy sandbox”. For example, in one of the playthroughs, Henry did not even have to clear the bandits’ camp, but they were tackled by the guards of a passing trade caravan. IGN in turn defined the game as “a smoother, more beautiful and refined sequel to everything that was great about the original”.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released on February 4, 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will receive a full translation into Russian, with the exception of the voice acting.
It was previously announced how long it would take to complete the RPG about the medieval Czech Republic. And recently, the developers held a virtual tour of the largest location.
