On December 12, a new bill was introduced to regulate the video game market in Russia, which raised many questions among gamers. Deputy Chairman of the Information Policy Committee of the State Duma, Anton Gorelkin, once again reminded that the law does not prohibit the activities of foreign gambling services.

I would like to draw the attention of the media, which began to spread messages about the supposedly mandatory identification of gamers through “State Services”, that our bill proposes three more methods: the use of another authentication system operated by a Russian legal entity, by biometrics or by telephone number. Anton Gorelkin also stated that the bill “does not contain any ban on the activities of foreign sites.”
Earlier, Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said Russia would consider the possibility of combating “propaganda of alien values” in video games.
