The Russian development team is preparing an ambitious, high-budget adventure RPG called Distortion. It will be released on PC and consoles, the game itself is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5.
The world of the game is inspired by middlepunk – it combines elements of science fiction and attributes from the Middle Ages. Little is known about the plot, but the developers said that a certain global disaster occurred in the game world, after which various monsters and creatures appeared. A group of heroes must fight back.
The game is said to have two gameplay modes. The first with a third person view, as in Skyrim or The Witcher 3. In this case it is possible to explore locations and fight enemies. The second will be similar to a real-time strategy game. In this mode it is possible to build and fortify your city, and to gather troops.
It is noted that the world evolves depending on the decisions made by the player. The gamer can focus on his personal story as well as on saving everyone. Several endings are announced, as well as storyline ramifications and quests.
Distortion promises different playable characters with their own histories and unique abilities. As for the combat system, if the character’s hand is damaged, it will not be able to use it until it is healed. And an arrow in the head will lead to death. You should also keep an eye on the character’s condition and let him rest.
