Independent studio Blingame has published a trailer for a post-apocalyptic action platformer in the metroidvania format called HOOK. The project has been in early access since last year. At the time of writing, it has 84% positive reviews.
The release of the final version of HAAK is scheduled for August 25 this year for PC and Nintendo Switch.
“Welcome to the post-apocalyptic world of HAAK! Explore the futuristic expanse of a world in decline, take on well-structured conspiracies, solve puzzles and discover the deepest and darkest secrets of this newly discovered universe.”says the description.
The main character can use a special energy hook in battle, which also helps to communicate with the environment. Among the features, the developers emphasize the retro style, dark color palette, hardcore side missions, many secrets, as well as unique character skills that can influence the style of gameplay.
