In 2020, Ubisoft released an action-adventure game Immortals Fenyx Rising (our review), which was immediately dubbed a “clone” Breath of the wilderness.” According to journalist and insider Jeff Grubb, the French-Canadian company has not left the franchise and is already preparing a sequel.
Grubb shared the news as part of the Games Mess Decides podcast. According to the source, the next part – now known under the working title Oxygen – is more of a spin-off than a full-fledged sequel. The setting this time was dedicated to Hawaiian Polynesian culture.
As in the first part, players can choose the gender of the main character and a particular god-narrator will comment on his actions. The visual part has undergone changes: the project is still styled like a cartoon, but now it doesn’t copy Zelda as clearly.
Grubb has already seen some concept art. The sequel is in early development and will be released around 2025.

Jeff Grubb’s source was also aware of the cancellation Ghost Recon: Frontline. Yesterday, Ubisoft announced the end of development of the battle royal and three more titles, and also postponed the action game Avatar.
