According to a recent survey by VTsIOM, every fourth adult in Russia plays video games. The survey was conducted among 1600 respondents over the age of 18. It turned out that only 5% of users play several times a month, and another 5% – at least once every six months.

According to the survey, 23% play several times a week. But 77% of respondents said they don’t often spend time on virtual entertainment. At the same time, the main audience in the games is young people from 18 to 24 years old. As noted, a fifth of young people “freeze” in games every day. But among the elderly, gamers turned out to be only 10% after 60 years.
In addition, men play 2.6 times more often than women. In percentage terms, these are 34% and 13% respectively.
In terms of platforms, the majority of Russian gamers prefer desktops and smartphones (44% and 45%). Laptops are used by 16% of respondents, while game consoles and tablets are used by only 5% and 8%, respectively.
The investigation also found that the sanctions started to experience problems for gamers buying new games, paying subscriptions and making in-game transactions.
