Artifacts (vessels) in Black Myth: Wukong is a unique piece of equipment that grants both passive and active abilities when equipped. They are quite powerful and should be used when facing bosses or when you are in a pinch during a fight. Furthermore, these artifacts are rare, so you will have to put a lot of effort into finding them.
The passive ability typically provides an overall stat boost, while the active ability can be activated to provide a much stronger buff that can change the course of the battle.
There are 4 artifacts in Black Myth: Wukong. Finding all the artifact locations will unlock the Treasure Trove achievement.
You can quickly switch between chapters at any time. After the story, there is still the possibility to explore the locations freely. After the final boss, you return to the title screen, select Continue here and you will be transported to the final boss. From this point on, you can still visit all the locations again. Just don’t click ‘Enter a new cycle’ on the main screen, because this will start the New Game+ mode and overwrite your save data, with no way to go back.
How to use artifacts
Once you have unlocked an artifact, you can use it by pressing RT or R2 and the left stick. To do this, you will need to select the artifact from the menu. To do this, open your inventory and then check the box next to the spirits and your equipment. This is your artifact slot. Once selected, build up your Chi source as usual, either by resting or by fighting enemies and building it up. You can then activate the artifact.
The Artifact from Chapter 2 is great for countering dust storms. This is important because one of the main mechanics of the final battle in Chapter 2 relies on tornadoes to keep you in check. This makes the second and third phases of Yellow Wind Sage incredibly effective, greatly reducing the difficulty of a dangerous enemy. Artifacts from Chapter 1 also provide reduced fire resistance, which counters many of the boss attacks in the same area.
