Sect 2000’s Deus Ex was perhaps one of the weirdest games of its decade. Recently, creator Warren Spector admitted that he had cut an entire level from the game that was “too crazy.”
Initially, the Deus Ex script featured a mission called the Denver Airport conspiracy, which was based on the strangest conspiracy theories related to this place. Warren Spector outlined an entire level at the airport, but then decided to remove it from the documentation.
According to his idea, there should have been a base of reptilians near Denver who would pose as world politicians – for example, George Bush or the Queen of Great Britain. Players also had to find cages containing children abducted by aliens for food.
“I aborted the mission because it was so crazy that no one would believe it,” Warren Spector said.

As the developer admitted, most of the content invented for Deus Ex never made it into the release version. For example, one of the missions involved an attack by an entire army, but the engine simply could not cope with the performance of this task.
Let us remind you that a fan remaster of the first Deus Ex was recently released on PC. Also in January, rumors emerged that the original game could get an official remake on Unreal Engine 5.
