There are many ways to close the game, but the best way is to exit through the menu. IN No Rest for the Wicked has multiple menu windows, so it’s easy to get lost in them. In this guide, we will tell you about all the ways you can quit the game.
How to close the game completely
If you have finished the game and want to leave the session, the fastest way is to use the keyboard shortcut “Alt+F4”. However, this can damage your save or roll back to the previous point, forcing you to walk another difficult path with many enemies.
If you open the game menu by pressing “Esc”, then you have 6 tabs open, but there is no exit button. This interactive menu is designed for in-game interaction.

To open another menu you must press “Tab” on the keyboard or “Get started” on the gamepad. There are already 7 tabs here, the last of which is net “Exit to menu”.

Remark: There is no pause in the game, so we recommend leaving the game in a safe zone or after autosave.
What other tabs are there in the game?
If you open the menu with Esc, you will have 6 interactive tabs:
- Inventory — all the items in your pocket are here, and next to you is your character with active equipment. To change, click once on the new item;
- Characteristics — general information about your character’s parameters. As you level up here, you can pump in “attribute points”;
- Orders — a tab with tasks you receive as you explore the world and interact with surrounding creatures;
- Card – a map of the area hidden by the fog of war. Over time, the mist will close the map again, restoring enemies to the area crossed and spreading new rewards;
- Roles studied – drawings and recipes that you can find in the game world or buy from local merchants. This allows you to create new dishes or create weapons and consumables;
- Institutions — here you can edit the game settings, but we recommend doing this on the home screen as the game may crash or a random enemy will attack you.
