Former Blizzard President Mike Ibarra

Mike Ibarra expressed this idea on social networks and said the following:

Some games leave me in awe of great experiences. At the end I often thought, “I wish I could give these people another $10 or $20 because it was worth more than my original $70.”

As an example of such games he mentioned Horizon: zero dawn, Elden Ring, God of war, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3.

“I know most people won’t like this idea,” the former Blizzard boss further noted.

Users in the comments suggested that in this case developers could return money for bad games, even if the “refund period” had long expired. An alternative to “tipping” was suggested by a subscriber nicknamed @chailattecos:

I gave copies of Baldur’s Gate 3 to my best friends. Maybe buying the game multiple times for someone or upgrading to the Collector’s Edition would be a good way to do it [отблагодарить].

Recall that Mike Ibarra left his position as head of Blizzard earlier this year. One of the founders, Allen Adham, also left the studio.
