It looks like the release of a long-suffering free shooter XDefiant is once again postponed indefinitely. However, according to a report from Ubisoft, the game should be released within a week.

Journalist Tom Henderson said the game would be released on March 31 this year. The studio’s plans also include earlier dates; according to anonymous contributors, XDefiant could have been released as early as February. However, Ubisoft has not yet announced any changes to the timing.

According to the insider, the problems with game freezes are caused by management’s desire to imitate everything Duty. However, there are no plans to cancel the game yet; the development process is in full swing. Recently, they even conducted a large-scale gaming test for XDefiant to check the network code and online store. Another public testing session will likely take place in the near future.

The shooter’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, has already responded to Tom Henderson’s article. He stated the following:

FYI: Our delay is not related to new features. Actually, not much has changed in terms of gameplay. The delay was due to the technical issues we discussed.

Mark Rubin also confirmed that the development process is still ongoing:

There will be an update soon (probably next week). I know we’ve been quiet because honestly there’s not much to discuss. I know people just want to see the game come out, and so do we.

Let’s not forget that XDefiant was supposed to release last summer. However, gameplay issues arose and the release had to be postponed.

The shooter is being developed as a shareware game. The game will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

An exciting mix of action first-person shooter, RPG, RTS, Tower defense and survival will be released on March 26
